A reading from the Gospel of John on the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross
For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him.
God of Sacrifice and Generosity, You give the path to eternal life. Through our words and actions may we participate in your mission. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Tips and Strategies for Developing Good Study Habits at Home
SOME PRACTICAL REMINDERS FOR PARENTS As we settle into the school year, the Counseling Department is happy to provide parents, guardians, and students with some study tips and time management strategies to support students' good study habits and wellness practices at home and at school:
Study Tips 1. Designate a Study Area: Have a dedicated study space at home with minimal distractions. 2. Limit Distractions: Put your phone away to minimize interruptions. 3. Breaks: Work for 25 minutes, then take a 5-minute break. This will help with maintaining focus and preventing burnout. 4. Start Homework Early: Complete assignments the night they are given. This provides time to seek help if needed and reduces last-minute stress.
Time Management 1. Utilize Off Periods: Spend part of your off periods working on homework or getting support - meeting with teachers, visiting math or science tutorial centers. 2. Plan Your Time: Use a planner (physical or digital) to keep track of assignments, projects, and co-curricular activities. 3. Grades: Check your grades weekly and complete any missing work. 4. Network: Make friends in each class so you can reach out to them if you miss a day.
Students Wellness 1. Regular Check-Ins: Regularly assess your mental, physical, and emotional well-being. Reach out to a trusted adult for support. 2. Foster Communication and Involvement: Meet with teachers, advocate your needs, and stay engaged in the classroom. 3. Prioritize Sleep: Strive for a minimum of 8 hours of sleep to support overall health and academic performance.
