Let us pray that as we begin the season of Lent we embrace the opportunity to:
Fast from hurting words and say kind words.
Fast from sadness and be filled with gratitude.
Fast from anger and be filled with patience.
Fast from pessimism and be filled with hope.
Fast from worries and have trust in God.
Fast from complaints and contemplate simplicity.
Fast from pressures and be prayerful.
Fast from bitterness and fill our hearts with joy.
Fast from selfishness and be compassionate to others.
Fast from grudges and be reconciled.
Fast from words and be silent so we can listen.
We pray that
our only desire
and our one choice
is to choose
what better leads
to the deepening
of God's life in us.
In Jesus we pray. Amen

ISABELLE HAU, LOVE TO LEARN: EARLY EDUCATION IN AN AI DRIVEN WORLD
Wednesday, March 11th; 7 p.m. - 8:15 p.m.
In-person at The Girls' Middle School, 3400 W Bayshore Rd, Palo Alto
In her recent book, Love to Learn, Isabelle Hau, the director of Stanford University's Accelerator for Learning, argues that strong, loving relationships are the foundation for healthy brain development, resilience, and lifelong learning. As technical tasks become more driven by AI, relational intelligence (RQ) will become ever more crucial for our children in both social and academic settings. Ms. Hau will share her blueprint for relational learning in the early years and beyond.
THE FUTURE IS HERE: AI, TEENS, AND EDUCATION
Virtual Event: Wednesday, March 25th; 6 - 7:30 p.m.
Artificial Intelligence is rapidly shaping the world our students are learning to navigate. We invite parents to join us for Part 1 of a two-part series on AI and education, designed to help families better understand this evolving landscape. Our first session will be a virtual event providing an accessible introduction to AI — what it is, how teens are encountering it, and what effects it has on the education landscape. Part 2 of this series will take place in the fall and will feature an expert guest speaker who will offer a deeper dive into the broader implications of AI for education and the future our students are preparing to enter.
RSVP and offer questions you would like us to address through this link.

MONARCH MADNESS (ONCE AGAIN) PROVES MAGICAL!
Last Thursday marked another moment in which our entire community came together as Monarch Madness returned to the San Jose Civic, and the 35th edition was simply amazing! The "Greatest Night to be a Monarch" left students, faculty, staff, and families alike feeling the true power of kinship and wonder at the imagination and talents of our students. From the opening production of "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" to the class dances, games, and another exceptional ROAR competition, the evening was filled with tangible excitement, competition, and community. Students sang this year's liturgical theme song, "Brighter Days" by Emeli Sandé to close the event, which lived up to its billing.
The Class of 2026 came away with its first-ever victory, and the class' name will be engraved on the school trophy. Monarch Madness XXXV once again showcased the connection within the entire Archbishop Mitty community and celebrated all of its members and the gifts God has given each of us. Thank you to all who participated in and attended this glorious event.

COLLEGE ATHLETIC COMMITMENT DAY IS APRIL 28TH
Tuesday, April 28th will be the third and final College Athletic Commitment Day of this school year. The event means to celebrate the performance of the AMHS senior student-athlete who:
(1) will be signing a National Letter of Intent to a NCAA Division I or Division II school;
(2) will be signing a "Likely Letter" to a Division I school that does not, by policy, issue athletic scholarships. Most prominent os such Division I schools that use the Likely Letter are member schools of the Ivy League;

(4) will be signing a commitment to accept an athletic scholarship at an NAIA school;
(5) who provides: official confirmation of a roster spot from the Head Coach, has verbally committed to attend and play for said program, and has confirmation of acceptance to the college or university.
These events do not include students who may be intent on playing sports in college who do not fall into one of the five designations articulated above. Additionally, students may only participate in one College Athletic Commitment Day. If you have any questions, please contact Athletic Director Pat Kennedy at pkennedy@mitty.com. Dean's Office Reminders
DRIVING SAFELY AND RESPECTING OUR NEIGHBORS
We have observed an increase in students parking outside of designated areas and in neighborhood locations that are not allowed under our school policy. Additionally, students are parking on and off campus without a valid school parking permit. Please review the designated parking areas around campus. Students should not be parking in the surrounding neighborhoods, blocking driveways, or parking in front of fire hydrants. Our neighbors have reported several incidents of these behaviors in the last few weeks. Please help us maintain positive relationships with our neighbors by showing consideration for their homes and streets when you visit campus.
DRESS CODE
We will be holding our Junior Prom on Saturday, April 18th. In an effort to make the dance run as smoothly as possible, students are reminded to purchase all dance tickets online prior to the event and turn in all guest passes by the deadline. Please listen carefully when announcements are made, or check mitty.com for further details.
Students are reminded to be sure that they are within the dress code for these end-of-the-year events. Please note that for Senior Ball, athletic shoes are not permitted and skirt length must be at least six inches from the mid-knee (including skirt slit). All dress code and dance policies can be found on the Archbishop Mitty website under "Dances."Students out of dress code will not be permitted into the dances, and parents will be contacted. Considering that these will be special nights for our seniors, it is important that everyone understands the standards expected to enter these dances, so that we can avoid any disruptions or frustration. Please be sure that if you are bringing a guest from another school that they too are within the dress code, so that they are permitted to enter the dance, as well.
As a reminder, students that purchase a ticket for any of our dances are expected to remain until the dance ends and the doors open. For Junior Prom, this means that students will leave at 11:30 p.m. Permission to leave the dance early is only permitted if requested to the Dean's Office in advance or in the event of illness.
Any students with questions regarding the dress code or other dance policies are encouraged to speak with Ms. Lauren Bevilacqua, Dean of Students, in advance of the event.
