There are Christians
Who have hysterical reactions
As if the world had slipped out of God's hands.
They are violent
As if they were risking everything.
But we believe in history.
The world is not a roll of the dice
On its way toward chaos.
A new world has begun to happen
Since Christ has risen.
Jesus Christ,
We rejoice in your definitive triumph
With our bodies still in the breach,
Our souls in tension;
We cry our first 'Hurrah!'
Till eternity unfolds itself.
Your sorrow now has passed.
Your enemies have failed.
You are the definitive smile for humankind.
What matter the wait now for us?
We accept the struggle and the death,
Because you, our love, will not die!
We march behind you on the road to the future.
You are with us. You are our immortality.
Take away the sadness from our faces;
We are not in a game of chance?
You have the last word!
Beyond the crushing of our bones,
Now has begun the eternal 'Alleluia!'
From the thousands of openings
In our wounded bodies and souls,
There now arises a triumphal song!
So teach us to give voice
To your new life throughout the world,
Because you dry the tears of the oppressed forever.
And death will disappear
- Luis Espinal, S.J. Each week, the Archbishop Mitty High School community prays a decade of the rosary for peace at
8 a.m. in front of the Kinkade Cross. All are welcome.
2026-2027 Re-Registration for Returning Students is Due
ALL RETURNING STUDENTS MUST RE-REGISTER BY FRIDAY, MAY 1ST
Parents and guardians are reminded that re-registration for returning students is now open and must be completed by Friday, May 1st. This process requires parents/guardians to complete online registration forms (which can be found on the parent portal by clicking the Registration link on the left-hand side of the page). On May 1st, a non-refundable deposit will be automatically deducted through your FACTS tuition account. If you have questions regarding FACTS payments, please contact Jill Messer at jmesser@mitty.com. If you have questions about the re-registration forms, please contact Katherine Wesmiller at kwesmiller@mitty.com.
Second Semester Final Examination Schedule
The second semester final examination schedule is available for viewing on the student and parent portals. Second semester finals will take place Monday, May 18th through Wednesday, May 20th. Students who have conflicts because two finals are scheduled at the same time need to email Ms. Alicia Carter at registrar@mitty.com as soon as possible to schedule an alternate time for one of the finals.
AP Exams Are Almost Here!
AP Testing runs from May 4th through May 15th, with late testing continuing through May 23rd for a smaller group of students. During this period, students will be excused from class to test. The full testing schedule is available in the student and parent portals for your reference.
All students: testing will take place in multiple locations across campus (including both gyms, Monarch Room, conference rooms, the library, and counseling offices) throughout the weeks of May 5th through May 23rd. Please be mindful of noise levels as you move around campus and help us maintain the quiet environment your peers need to perform their best.
For students preparing to test, here are a few tips to set yourself up for success:
• Read all instructions carefully before test day. Don't just skim! Missing key details is one of the most common sources of confusion and stress. • If your teacher offers a practice run-through, take advantage of it. You can also complete one on your own. It can make a big difference in how confident and prepared you feel. • Resource links, policies, and schedules are available in the student and parent portals whenever you need them.
We wish all of our AP students the very best, and your hard work and preparation will show. Thank you, families, for your continued support!
APRIL 29TH - EARLY RELEASE
Students are permitted to leave after their last class period of the day.
SENIOR BALL DRESS CODE
We will be holding our Senior Ball on Saturday, May 2nd. In an effort to make this dance run as smoothly as possible, students are reminded to purchase all dance tickets online prior to the event and turn in all guest passes on time to avoid missing out. Please listen carefully when announcements are made.
Students are reminded to be sure that they are within the dress code for these end of the year events. All dress code and dance policies can be found on the Archbishop Mitty website under "Dances." Students out of dress code will not be permitted into the dances, and parents will be contacted. Because these will be special nights for juniors and seniors, it is important that everyone understands the standards expected to enter these dances so that we can avoid any disruptions or frustration. Please be sure that if you are bringing a guest from another school that they too are within the dress code, so that they are permitted to enter the dance as well. Students looking to purchase a dress for these dances should consider these dress code expectations when preparing for the big night.
As a reminder, students that purchase a ticket for any of our dances are expected to remain until the dance ends and the doors open. For Senior Ball this means that students will leave at 11:30 p.m. Permission to
leave the dance early is only permitted if requested to the Dean's in advance or in the event of illness during
the dance.
Any student with questions regarding dress code or other dance policies should speak to Ms. Lauren Bevilacqua, Dean of Students, in advance of the event.
SCHOOL DAY DRESS CODE
As we near the end of the semester, please remember that the dress code is in full effect through the end of the year, including Finals Week. Please review the dress code here. Students with questions regarding dress code should speak to Ms. Lauren Bevilacqua, Dean of Students
