Why are announcements automatically playing every time I exit AirPlay

This is happening because you (or the person that showed the announcements in the classroom before you) left the announcements app open and began AirPlaying.

The quick solution is to use the Apple TV remote and press the menu or home button to go back to the Apple TV home screen, then this will not play the announcements every time you exit AirPlay.
