FOR A MORE JUST WORLD
Loving God, move us to love in concrete ways as we seek a better future for all of your children. Open our eyes to the values of the social teaching of the Church; give us the energy and the courage to reject fatalism. Grant that we may be guided by Catholic Social Teaching so we may be a part of creating the systems and structures of grace that will allow all human life to flourish. Nurture hope in our hearts, guide us forward and give us a sustaining vision of a renewed human community in a renewed Creation.
—Jane Deren, Education for Justice
Student Drop-Off
Please consider the following regarding picking up and dropping off students to campus especially
with the weather being a concern as of late:
• Use the passenger loading zone in front of school on Mitty Ave. to drop off and pick up your student(s). This zone is indicated by the white curb and signs, and it extends almost the entire length of AMHS. Please pull forward along this street.
• Unload and load passenger(s) in the neighborhood north of school on Park Meadow Dr. (by Mise Park) & Bevans Dr., or the neighborhood south of school off of Doyle/Glentree. Do not unload students at the Queen of Apostles Church/School lot.
Your cooperation is greatly appreciated!
Last Week to Register for Confirmation
All sophomores, juniors, and seniors interested in receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation through AMHS must register at the Confirmation page of our AMHS website before Saturday, January 31, 2026. Please contact Ms. Marian Wyman with any questions at mwyman@mitty.com. PLEASE NOTE: In order to accommodate the Bishop's schedule, the date of the Confirmation liturgy has been changed to Monday, May 11th. This shift has been reflected on the Confirmation Calendar.
Tuition Assistance Applications Portal is Now Open!
The Tuition Assistance applications portal (FACTS) for the 2026–2027 school year has opened and will close on Monday, February 2, 2026. A link to the FACTS portal is available on our website under Tuition Assistance.
Families seeking tuition assistance are required to reapply each year.
• New applicants will need to create a FACTS account. • Returning applicants may log in using their existing credentials.
Please note that all required documents — including 2025 W-2s and 2024 tax returns — must be uploaded directly on FACTS to complete your application.
New this year: FACTS is offering IRS Integration for applicants who meet specific eligibility criteria. This feature allows applicants to streamline the submission of required tax information by securely connecting directly with IRS records. More details are posted here.
Monarch Madness has been Revealed!
"The Greatest Night to be a Monarch" is coming soon. On March 5th, the school will host its 35th edition of Monarch Madness. Students, faculty, and families alike will feel the true spirit of what it means to be a Monarch as they gather in the San Jose Civic in downtown San Jose. The evening encompasses a themed production filled with music, costumes, choreographed dances, games, and a ROAR finale. The freshmen will enter into the Civic showing their rambunctious spirit as Beetlejuice, sophomores will look to unravel supernatural forces with Stranger Things, juniors will take you on an adventure back to freedom with Rio; and seniors will do what it takes to entertain you in The Gladiator.
If your student was picked for the team, contracts are due to Student Activities on or by Wednesday, January 28th. The first practice will be held on Thursday, January 29th, at 7:30 a.m. when all student team members will report to Fien Gymnasium. Ticket information will be made available in the coming weeks.
Pathfinders: Career Exploration Panel Discussion
Pathfinders is a career exploration program organized by Alumni Relations, the Counseling Department, and the Archbishop Mitty Board of Regents. We are pleased to announce an upcoming event for students on Tuesday, February 3rd, at 1:50 p.m. in the Thomas Kinkade Center for the Arts.
"Career Launchpad: Future-Ready Skills and the Hiring Process" is a student-focused panel designed to introduce broadly applicable professional skills and demystify early career steps. The conversation will center on how communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and adaptability—developed through students' work at Archbishop Mitty today—form the foundation for success in any future path. Rather than diving into technical or role-specific details, the event offers an accessible, big-picture view of the professional world, with light references to emerging tools such as AI.
Encourage your students to join us!

THANK YOU TO ALL OUR SUPPORTERS
Last fall, many of you donated to our Spirit Week fundraiser to support Harvest Pack and make a difference
in food insecurities. Collectively we raised over $16,000. Last week, Monarch athletes from baseball, softball, freshmen soccer and varsity lacrosse came together in collaboration with Harvest Pack to package 1,320 family-sized packages of vitamin enriched oatmeal that was donated to Silicon Valley Second Harvest
Food Bank.
